Texans listening to offers for the 1st overall pick!!

    http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5361260

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA (AP) - Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush might not land with the Houston Texans after all.

Texans general manager Charley Casserly said Sunday that the Texans have been talking to teams about possibly trading the first pick in the 2006 draft.
It has been widely speculated that the Heisman Trophy winning running back out of Southern California would end up with the Texans because they recently gave quarterback David Carr a three-year contract extension.

The Texans, who finished 2-14 last season, have multiple needs that might be filled with one major move.

"There's clearly players at the top of this draft that are marquee players," Casserly said. "Players that are impact players, players that are going to go to the Pro Bowl, players that are going to sell tickets. We're going to get offers for this pick. We've already had discussions with teams. I think there's value in our pick.

"Whether it's Reggie Bush, Vince Young or Matt Leinart, those three players are going to produce trade offers. We are definitely going to have some choices when it comes to draft day."

Reggie will want a contract as much as Edge im sure.. And i'm not certain he will be a stud.. Sure he could deak out people in college.. I don't know if that will work in the NFL..

Just get Edge instead of putting everything into getting that pick

of coarse they are going to entertain offers from other teams. every team with 1st overall does that. it will take alot to take the pick from them.

Vikez, you and I are on the same page brother.. We both agree that James is best suited for our new system. Wilf, go after the Edge, and make us a contender...

i am 100% sure we wont get bush, but here is why bush is a better solution. edge is 28 years old, which by running back standards, means he has 2 years left in his prime, 3 tops. running backs over 30 years old just dont get it done like they used to, even emmit sucked the last 3 years of his career. bush, although unproven as an NFL pro, is a long term solution unlike edge.

But we are a few steps away from being a contender in the NFL. If we got that premier running back, then next year could be our year. Possibly 2007 season. That would mean that edge is still in his prime (along with Daunte, Birk, etc.) We have a team that is close to contention. No need to build for the future by trading for a #1 draft pick.
