Terrell Suggs has filed a grievance against the Ravens, saying he should be designated as a defensive end instead of a linebacker.

Well if he wears a linebacker number, then he should be designated as a linebacker.

Well if the Ravens have tagged him as a Linebacker could a time sign him as a end and give him a DL number and not have to compensate the Ravens, if they use him as an end.

technically... he's a LB.
He will lose this case... but i'd be pissed as well

Which is insane that the Raven would do this.
It's not a whole lot of money all things considered, but I can see what is coming.
The Ravens will end up the bad guy in Sugg's eyes, he'll lose his case, and then whenever the Ravens want him to play DE he might raise heck about it and I could very well see him traded before the year is out.
Maybe they can't change it now, but if this is just the Ravens flat out refusing to give him DE money this is really really really dumb for the Ravens.

Being 55 doing preclude him from being a defensive end...

There are DE whose numbers are in the 50s

His problem isn't with the tag - it's tagging him as an LB.
I doubt there's a window, now that the new NFL year has started.
