On the same day the Dallas Cowboys announced that wide receiver Terrell Owens had agreed to a contract extension with $13 million in guaranteed money, Owens was in New York meeting with NFL officials after being placed in the league's "reasonable cause" testing program for performance-enhancing drugs, sources told ESPN....

T.O. missed random drug test Story Highlights
Owens says he discussed his absence with leage officials last week

T.O. was not suspended or fined by the Cowboys or the NFL
Posted: Monday June 9, 2008 7:44PM; Updated: Monday June 9, 2008 7:44PM

IRVING, Texas (AP) -- Terrell Owens acknowledged Monday having missed a random drug test several weeks ago, blaming it on a "communication problem involving cell phone numbers."

He also said he was in New York last week talking about his absence with league officials the day he agreed to a $34 million new contract with the Dallas Cowboys.

Owens was not suspended or fined, although he could've been, according to ESPN.com, which first reported the story, citing NFL, team and player sources. The report also said Owens now could face up to 24 tests per year as part of the league's "reasonable cause" testing program for performance-enhancing drugs.

"I'm not really worried about anything," Owens said Monday afternoon in an interview with The Associated Press. "It's not a big deal. Anything I do is going to grab headlines. I have nothing to hide. I've made a statement and that's it. It's basically a dead issue."

Who gives a shit. Like he said, he has nothing to hide. The guy is just pure muscle. He is one of those guys that it is in his genes. He is not worried, the Cowboys are not worried, and apparently the NFL is not either. They would of fined him if the had beef with him. TO is a different man now IMO and I wish he was a Viking.

This is a non-issue in my opinion.

agreed.
Still kinda have to wonder if he's loving the attention still.
But I agree, the missed drug test shouldn't be an issue.
It aparantly takes almost a year to get steroids out of your system, so if he's juicing, it will show on the next one.
(I don't think he is, he's just huge)

I agree.
I don't think he is juicing at all.
Today on KFAN they were talking about a game last year in which he got hurt, and the trainers wanted to give him a shot of cortisone and he refused.
Apparently he won't drink pop, eat candy, etc.
He is very careful about what he puts in his body.
So I doubt he is on steroids.
But it is his responsibility to make himself available to the NFL for testing, and if he doesn't, then he needs to pay the price.
Can't make an exception just because it is doubtful that he is on anything.

LOL.
Different man or not, TO and Childress together again would go over like a fart in church.

It's not a case of him using HGH to be successful - that's not what I'm thinking.

To me, the problem is the attitude - "I'm a superstar, I don't have to deal with that'

Now the problem may be Rosenhaus - the NFL calls for a test went to him, and he was with TO, but didn't let him know? - but the ultimate responsibilty lies with Owens.
Given his past resume in SF, Philly, sit ups on the front lawn, acting like Eddie Murphy behind Rosenhaus at a presser - he's lost leeway and lost credibility.

Yeah, he hasn't brought bad publicity to the NFL by being arrested, but he's done nearly as much damage by being himself.

I'd rather have a guy who can stretch the field like Troy Williamson, but whatever floats your boat man.
