NEW YORK (AP) Terrell Owens was fined $35,000 by the NFL on Monday for spitting in the face of Atlanta's D'Angelo Hall during Saturday night's Cowboys-Falcons game.

The flamboyant Dallas receiver was not suspended.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello announced the fine, which came after Hall knocked Owens out of bounds on a pass play during Dallas' 38-28 win.

"I got frustrated and I apologize for that," Owens told the NFL Network after the game. "It was a situation where he kept bugging me and getting in my face."

If the officials had seen Owens spitting, he would have been ejected from the game under NFL rules.

During a playoff game last season, Washington's Sean Taylor was kicked out of a game for spitting at Tampa Bay's Michael Pittman. Taylor was later fined $17,000.

For all his skills—and you would need a box of Sharpies to list them—Terrell Owens is better known for his antics outside the white lines than his accomplishments between them. Inappropriate touchdown celebrations (and even more inappropriate pre-game promotions), whining that he doesn’t see the ball enough, and forcing the hand of management with threats and demands, none of this has earned him the admiration of fans. But if they knew of his tortured past and hard road to the NFL, Terrell might just win their hearts and shed the label of football’s most misunderstood star

Roberto Alomar was suspended for spitting at an um. I don't care if iT.O spit at another player he should have been suspended.
You get suspeneded for having a brawl and for stomping on someones' head, but spitting just
get's money taken out of your sock drawer. I don't get it.
