Teddy gone as D cord for Chargers

Just read it on NFL .com

Four score and seven years ago, Brad Childress has brought upon this team, a west coast offense, conceived in San Francisco, and Dedicated to be a Kick jiggly butt offence. We are now engaged in an NFL season, testing weather that offense can get going or that our defense can long endure.

So let me ask this question.

Does this mean that Norv is using him as a scapegoat in an attempt to save his job or is it because his defense actually sucked and Rivera is a better coach?
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

I don't think he is a very good coach.
He didn't do too much for the Vikings D.

The only thing we can thank him for is luring fat Pat from the Bills.

How he was still a D-coordinator in the NFL, I have no clue.
    Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

If I remember correctly, the Chargers Head Coach was hired late in the offseason and when it came to get assistant coaches all they had left was the scrap pile.

    Hmmm if I remember correctly,
Marty got fired because he didn't want Teddy as the D-Cord and the GM did...so they hired Norv who is a lousy coach.....always has been always will be....Teddy is no better. BTW

I Googled it just to make sure I wasn't becoming senile in my old age.

The root of the change came after Smith advised Schottenheimer on Monday to consider hiring Ted Cottrell to be the next defensive coordinator, according to a source close to the situation. Smith has a high opinion of Cottrell from their days in Buffalo and believed that Cottrell would provide continuity after the loss of defensive coordinator Wade Phillips, who became head coach in Dallas.
I guess Marty wanted to hire his brother as D-cord.

Can someone explain to be how Ted Cottrell (Terrible D-Cord for the Vikes) was in a higher position than Ron Rivera (who was considered for head coaching jobs two seasons ago.) ?
