Tebow

Tbone is great for the game. People love him for a reason. Doesn't matter why. The guy has potential like any other player including the Pounder. Vikings fans seem to always want instant gratification. Fire this guy, fire that guy, trade him! Great teams are built over time, and every player is a nobody at some time in their career. Players, coaches and staff need to become a team, it dosn't happen over night. I've said it before and I'll say it again... Bringing in Packer great, Brett F. was a mistake that cost the Vikings dearly, and they will pay for this mistake for a long time. The Packers didn't want the guy, why pick up their trash! Give me a team of nobody's that are willing to work and learn together. Guys that don't need to brag or dance around like an idiot after making a good play. Making good plays is their job, I don't dance around and brag everytime I do what is expected of me at my job. My job is to do things right. And please, don't Give me Guys that don't complain about the food at a buffet lunch.

Running QB's have the ability to come into the NFL from day one and lead their team to victories moreso than guys with great arms, but very limited scrambling ability. Passing QB's have a lot more to process and get comfortable before their primary weapon can be successful. Running QB's, not so much.

longer term, this reverses and the ceiling is much higher for QB's that are effective in the passing game. Tebow, Vince Young and Cam Newton were very successful college QB's that were very poised and knew how to win. Largely, by taking the game in their own hands (or rather legs).

Tebow is having his 15 minutes of fame and I give him credit for helping lead his team to victories. However, I don't see him as a long term successful NFL QB unless he can figure out how to beat opponents in the air. Tebow is already close to his ceiling IMO and his body will degrade quickly at his current pace of abuse.

For now, he is fun to watch. Tough gritty guy with a very competitive spirit.

Ponder has a much higher ceiling IMO, but right now, Tebow is doing more to help his team win.

I am confused as to how anyone can "hate" Tim Tebow. He is a good guy, works as hard as anyone and simply NEVER gives up.

I don't know if he will ever develop into a better passer, and I agree that if he doesn't he will flame out. But I do know that he will work his ass off to get better and he is already showing signs of improvement while ALSO winning games by making runs AND THROWS when it matters most. He is 6-3 as a starter in this league with 6 games of QB ratings 89.7 or higher. It is hard to argue with those numbers.

In all honesty, the Broncos offense IS NOT suited to Tebow because he would work best with faster, good hands wideouts that can get into space and make something happen and he would work better in a shotgun, no huddle type of offense that is spread out.

I personally think Tebow will be around for a while and he is a winner. I think the Broncos were hoping he would fail, and that at some point they will either be converts or will trade him, but he is going to be around for a while. And I have no problems with that.

I am by no means a religious person, in fact I am quite the opposite, but I admire his faith and his honesty. In this day and age of so many me-first athletes and fake personas I find it very difficult to dislike someone who wears his faith on his sleeve, works as hard as anyone else on the field and is an honest person. For those reasons I will continue to root for Tebow (except when he plays the Vikings of course).

He will win a close game but never win a shootout, the offense isnt build to score huge amounts of points but defenses tends to be worn out when being in rush defense all night long.

There are a few QB's with good win/loss records in the NFL that you wouldnt consider good, take Vince Young, i think he is 31-17 or something like that, but in the off-season no one wanted part of him..

I don't think i hate Tim Tebow, im just tired of the hype because i don't think he can beat a team with a good offense and a disiplined defence, i however have no idea how he has been able to win all of those games, but it seems that the whole roster is behind the kid and his defence is playing their asses off..

I would have picked the Broncos to lose 5 of the last six, but they have infact won 5.. But please don't give all the credit to Tim Tebow, they have some players who has really stepped up, especially Von Miller who has been on fire as of late.

Winning is great, but alot of mediocre QB's have won football games. Tarvaris Jackson went 8-4 in his second year in the NFL.

Exactly. On my facebook I was arguing with some friends over Tebow, and they kept saying he's winning all these games. My point was that Tebow isn't winning these games nearly as much as his defense and special teams is.

Personally, I would take a QB who is putting up great stats but not getting the wins over a QB that is putting up weak stats but getting the wins. In the case of the loser here, blame can clearly be placed on other aspects of the team, such as Defense or mistakes by coaches, things like that. Look at Aaron Rodgers first starting year for the packers. They went 6-10 but he played pretty damn good. Tebows playing (mostly) garbage this year but his team is winning. Why? Because his defense is playing damn good. Tebow will never be able to win against a team that has a competent offense. He beat the shitty chiefs, the raiders who with a brand new (for them) QB who had about 2 weeks with the team, a way overrated Jets team (his best win IMO), and a terrible chargers team, and a dolphins team that... well, they're the dolphins. The biggest contributor to his wins have been his defense which has had a major resurgence. I look at the Lions game as the one game he's played against a semi-competent team, and he got a good ol' prison pounding.

My problem with using wins as the measuring stick for a QBs is that it's a team game, and you can play great QB and still lose, and you can play crappy-mediocre QB and win. Look at Dilfer vs. Marino. There is no point in which I would ever take Dilfer over Marino. I think wins can (and should) be used for the the measurement of a teams success, but a QB can't play defense. Ultimately a QB's success will be measured on wins, but even a great QB can play lights out and still not win a SB.
