I'm going by the fact he's old and has not produced in years.

His production has never been huge.
I know he had a solid year with Detroit in 2005.
I don't think he's done much in the past two years but he wasn't exactly a starter either.

I just wanted to see how you came to your conclusion that he is done.
He is in his upper 30s so I will agree that he is somewhat long in the tooth.
But I'm not so sure given the right situation he couldn't produce when asked for a limited salary.

How do you know he is promising? Have you seen him play?

I saw him at a few plays in the end of last season. He looked like a natural pass catcher. Add to that, that he's young, and has several coaches praises, as well as good scouting reports from training observations.

Where as Pollard is just old, getting older, and slow as hell.

The point is there is no upside with him.
What he's done in the past few seasons is likely what you'd get.
He's in no way better than Kleinsasser or Shiancoe.
His glory days with the Colts are way in the past.
