    Tank Johnson stopped by police

CHICAGO (AP) -- Chicago Bears defensive tackle Tank Johnson was pulled over for speeding in Arizona early Friday and police said they drew blood from the NFL player to determine whether he was drunk.

Johnson already is suspended for the first eight games of the 2007 NFL season after violating probation on a gun violation.

Police in the Phoenix suburb of Gilbert said Johnson was stopped for driving 40 mph in a 25 mph zone at 3:30 a.m. Friday and the officer made observations that led him to believe Johnson was impaired.

Tank and Pacman should not be allowed to have children.

Will this mean he will get suspended for the year?

It didn't say what the results of his blood test was, so I doubt he was actually impaired.
Speeding isn't big enough to warrant any further action by the league.

The officer had probable cause to make an arrest, Duncan said. Test results aren't expected for up to two weeks, and they would be sent to Gilbert town prosecutors for consideration of any charges.
    Yeah IDK.
What ever happened to a simple breathalyzer?

This can't make things better thats for sure.

If I had been in jail, and suspenpended from my job.
I would do anything possible not to get in trouble.
I would have gotten a ticket for driving to slow.

Probable cause to make the arrest doesn't take much to be honest.
If Tank had been drinking moderately, but not enough to be impaired, then he would still have a nystagmus (twitching in the eye) which is enough to bring him in.

I don't know the law in IL, but in ND you can opt for a blood test instead.
They are more accurate, although the breathalyzers tend to error on the side of the driver, so I don't know why you ever would opt for blood.

If you flat out refuse, then you get the exact same punishment as if you were drunk.

They have to send the blood in to have it tested. The results won't happen immediately, so we won't know for a week or two.

Let's just assume that at 3:30 in the morning, he wasn't on his way to 7-11 for a Slurpy.

    MMMMMM. Slurpies...

You are probably right, of course.
I must be in a good mood today - I feel like giving him the benefit of the doubt for some reason.

Well he did eat all those slim jims and other stuff in jail, so 7-11 is possible.
