Surprising Stat Leaders - Week 5

I was going to do this for weeks 4, 8, 12, and 17, but I got lazy. Anyways:

    QB Rating:
    1. David Carr (108.9)
    2. Damon Huard (107.4)
    3. Rex Grossman is (100.9)

    QB Comp.%:
    1. Carr (73%)
    2. Huard (70.2%)
    4. Philip Rivers (66.7%)
    5. Chad Pennington (66.2%)

    TD Passes:
    2. Grossman (10)

I'm a bit surprised Vick has only 2 INTs

    Rushing Yards:
    1. Stephen Jackson, Frank Gore (465)
    4. Chester Taylor (421)

    Rushing TDs:
    1. Kevan Barlow (4)

No RB is averaging over 100 YPG. RB Committee is definetly in fashion.

    Receptions:
    1. Reggie Bush (34)
    4. Andre Johnson, Kellen Winslow (30)

    Receiving Yards:
    3. Bernard Berrian (413)
    4. Johnson (410)
    5. Roy Williams (391)

    TD Catches
    1. Berrian (4)
    4. Marques Colston, Greg Jennings, Jerricho Cotchery, Reggie Brown (3)

    Scoring
    1. Robbie Gould (66)

At this point last year Gould was 2/4 with 10 points. He hasn't missed this season and only Jeff Wilkins has attempted more FGs than him.

    Average Kick Returns:
    1. Joshua Cribbs (28.2)
    2. Edell Sheperd (28.1)
    5. Maurice Hicks (27)

    Average Punt Returns:
    3. Terrence Wilkins (12.6)

Wilkins has not played since 2003, when he had 7 punt return for 25 yards.

    Return TDs:
    1. Wilkins, Devin Hester (1)

    Sacks:
    1. Trent Cole (6)
    5. Bart Scott (5)

    Interceptions:
    2. Ricky Manning Jr, Walt Harris (3)

Some had given up on Manning Jr, and Harris has not had 3 picks in a season since 1998.

Note that I only included players who I thought were surprising. Some veterans may be tied or have the lead in the categories listed above. The rankings were taken from ESPN.

Just some interesting tidbits. Take it with a grain of salt because it is only week 5, and stats don't tell the whole story. Still, it hurt to see Bears players all over this thing.
