Tell me about it! My wife just got hired by the Nevada County Sherriffs Department. She has been a substitute teacher and a rehabilitation specialist for Pride Industries here in NorCal, working with developmentally disabled adults: criminal element for sure. I'm going to be married to a deputy. Wierd. My brother is a Tribal Policeman up at Leech Lake and my sister-in-law is a Deputy in Uintah County, Utah. I know what your talking about. ;D Some cops can get overzealous! My wife with a badge? whow. As an edit, I am too much of a criminal to ba a cop. 11 years ago I was arrested 4 times in 3 months for fighting, drunk-in-public, DUI, and several resisting arrests. Went on a bender. ;D Alot of those folks are good people. My wife stuck by me!

You're invoking the wrath of NP again.

I'm surprised he didn't get a green dot last time.

I think a lot of what makes up a cop comes from what school or academy he goes to.
I've met my share of good cops who do their job and don't go out of their way to find "law breakers", and I've met plenty who are one man crusaders who think everybody is breaking the law and they need to go out of their way to get everybody for breaking the law(of course the officer themselves can break as many as they want).
For the most part I've noticed a lot of the super cops come from certain schools, and the good level headed ones come from others.
Of course I've also noticed older cops are more inclined to give out more warnings and deal with people compared to younger more fresh cut black and white lined cops.

Some laws like murder are pretty clear cut, but when a cop is hassling you for an improper turn or going 58 in a 55 that just reeks of power tripping.

Shutz, its like anything else: there's good folks and bad folks. Stereotypes are easy to come up with. I'm VERY guilty of it myself. The court felt that the injured fella deserved some money. Lesson for everyone involved. As a side note, I'm not sure where your from shutz, but if you are anywhere near Walker, Minn, or happen to be near there, raise some hell and cause a ruckus. If a deputy named Garr Pemberton questions you, observe his reaction and tell me what academy he attended. ;D P.S. He's mean. >
