    STILL NO DEAL FOR STALLWORTH

Contrary to a report on ComcastSportsNet.com that receiver Donte' Stallworth has a deal with the New England Patriots, Profootballtalk.com has learned that there is no agreement.

ComcastSportsNet.com says that the deal was "confirmed . . . by the office of Drew Rosenhaus, Stallworth's agent."

Well, we tracked down Rosenhaus personally, and he told us:
"There is no deal, and nothing is imminent."

Stallworth visited with the Patriots on Tuesday, and will next visit with the Titans, and then with the Dolphins.
No decision on his next destination is expected until the end of the week, at the earliest.

Thanks, I thought that it was a little weird because I read the Boston Herald before reading the comcast report and it said that he was leaving without a deal.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

If the Pats end up with Stallworth or Moss they are definately the #1 contenders for the Super Bowl next year. Bringing in Adalius Thomas will definately help that defense a ton (which has been shaky at linebacker for a year or so) and if they can give Brady a go-to receiver they will take that team to new heights.

Heck, they were in the AFC Championship last year with a seemingly less talented team.

I think the idea is that you don't turn teams around with high priced free agents, but you do make good teams better. The Redskins tried to sign high priced, big name guys to make their franchise go from worst to first, and that doesn't work.

You draft to build contenders (which the Pats are). You pick up free agents to make contenders better (which the Pats are doing).

Daniel Snyder wants a SB so bad he can't even buy one.
