CFL | O. Smith struggles in preseason debut

The Canadian Press reports former Minnesota Vikings RB Onterrio Smith saw his first preseason action in the second half for the CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers, but he fumbled on his first carry and didn't stand out, which may hurt his bid to make the CFL team. CFL teams are to make their final cuts this weekend.
Re: Smith Struggles in preseason Debut
Although he did bad I highly doubt they will cut him..
He should be highly productive.. It was his first game i'm sure they will give him some slack..
They saw what he can do in the NFL.. No reason he can't do that there
Re: Smith Struggles in preseason Debut
How could they possibly cut him? He started on an NFL team, there is no way he shouldn't be able to even make a CFL team

Not necessarily true...BUT I think that they will cut him some slack since he is rusty.

All sports teams live by the "what have you done for me lately" philosophy. Just because that pothead played in the NFL doesn't mean he's going to make the roster up there. From all accounts, he came in looking like the Michelan Man and hurt his foot/ankle shortly after arriving.
I just can't believe anyone is still talking about the fool. If he was smart, he'd start trying to use that college degree of his to enter a profession better suited to his lack of ambition...perhaps a civil servant?

Its been almost 2 years since Onterrio Smith has done anything that impressive on a football field. True, they probably won't cut him, but they should. He is not suited for the CFL game and is clearly out of shape and underserving of making the roster. Fumbling on your first carry? Please...this is the CFL, if you can't hold on to the pigskin if it's a little wet or cold you won't last long.
Not like it matter, Winnipeg already has a good running back and are still the worst team in the league (now with Ottawa gone).
Re: Smith Struggles in preseason Debut
maybe he should open a new business of masking certain types of drugs =)

I agree he should be cut Itailian... But they won't..
He blew his chance at football in my opinion.. I'm all for second chances.. possibly 3rd.. But he's getting way too much slack
And if he can't hold onto the ball that's even worse.. That's his job

I seen some video of his first workout and he was a balloon, he said he was 20lbs over weight but he was 30lbs over at least. He tried running and he tripped over his own feet, if he was serious about playing football he would have been ready to play not eating himself out of his last shot at a pro-football career.

He may want to go into business with Jason Grimsley and others.
