Re: Smith owns Smoot
Smoot was hung out to dry in that game. I blame mostly the DC and Tice insofar as he didn't step in when it became apparent what was going on.
If memory serves, it was after this game that AW finally spoke up about the problems on the defense. After which Tice was much more involved.
A hard game to watch.
Personally, I don't think there is intelligent life on other planets. Why should other planets be any different from this one?

Re: Smith owns Smoot
Besides what everyone else is saying, I think Smith got into Smooths head a little to much that game..
I can't wait to see what happens week 2 this year in Minny.....

Re: Smith owns Smoot
I think I'll give Smoot another shot, he seems to really want to prove to everyone that he was worth his contract. At the end of last year he said this year will would be one of his best, then he came into camp bulked up so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. Also about Smith of you read the article today on SI.com The Key for Carolina it talks about the Seahawks putting 4 guys on him to stop him so not giving Smoot help was just not smart.

Two words: Ted Cottrell.Sure, some of this was on Smoot's shoulders, but for the life of me I can't figure out why the coaching staff didn't do any mid-stream adjustments. Thank God the Vikings have a new coaching staff this year.
People like to quickly blame Tice for this one, but it was Cottrell who was running the defense, not Tice, & he never made the necessary adjustments.
It wasn't to long after that when Tice tore most of the pages out of Cottrells playbook.

Re: Smith owns Smoot
I flagged that video inappropiate.
It really makes you wonder if we had a defensive gameplan at all for this game. I think that was the only game that Smith had single coverage all season. How do you prepare for the Panthers w/o seeing the need to Double cover Smith?
Tomlin sure has small shoes to fill. And by small I mean tiny. And by tiny, I mean miniscule."I hate when threads are destroyed by facts and logic."

Yeah it says something that Cottrel can't get a job, maybe the rest of the league knows something we apparently didn't
