I also like to bring this one up just to remind everyone.......

Kindof wish it would have worked out with Clemens, glad we didn't get Cutler and am extremely happy with TJ.
    BLASPHEMY!
Funny how all three of those will be forever linked, especially the way the draft unfolded.

What would our team look like today if we gave up the pics they wanted for Cutler?

I still believe we will see in the long run that we made the right choice when we get a chance to see the impact of the players on the team from the last two drafts.

It's different for me since I watched Cutler for four years, and was in the same graduating class as him at Vandy.

Don't get me wrong I loved the 2006 draft, but Greenway and Jackson for Cutler doesn't sound that bad, especially when you consider how we traded up for TJ.

That being said. TJ was the best option IMO after Cutler was gone.

C'mon guys, if you'll remember correctly, Scott Studwell and his scouts, along with the Vikings Admin., really kept it really "hush, hush" when they had T.J. work out for them.
    Not once, but twice.
There was no doubt that they wanted him if they couldn't get Cutler.
I think T.J. will make us very happy!

    Also,
I love the scouting job that we've been doing, especially these last 2 years.
I think that this "Triumvirate" system may also be working.

At least I really hope so.

Re: SI's Bucky Brooks - QB questions clearing up

What we have seen of TJ this pre-season is limited but good.
I was in a hotel room in Denver last Saturday watching Cutler against the Cowboys. I can't make a determination based on one preseason game; but Cutler stunk. I kept thinking how happy I was to have TJ instead of this guy. I may be wrong but that was my impression. TJ looked much better so far.

Yes he did stink in that preseason game, he was also very solid for the Broncos last year. Come on guys I love TJ and all, but comparing him to Cutler is just horrid right now. Cutler has at least proven he can manage games. TJ hasn't even done that yet. It is not for certain that Cutler will pan out and be better than Jackson, but he looks to be on that road, as expected.

I can understand those who think Cutler would have cost too much and therefore are happy with TJ, but to think TJ is better, has done better, or has more potential than Cutler at this point in time is sillyness.

    I am of that ilk.
I actually had us moving up to get him in my mock draft that year.
Needless to say, my mock stunk it up that year.

All we have is speculation on how Tarvaras will do this year. We didn't get Cutler, as the price was too steep. V stay true to your school, that's cool, but our scouts have been dead on the last couple years and whatever they saw in TJ is what gave them the confidence to take him over the others. He will grow into a very good QB, and I'm excited to watch as our young offense comes together. We will be turning heads this year with a much improved and exciting offense.

It's nice to read something positive on our young QB, good article Bucky Brooks.

And TJ hasn't proven he can't...
