Rex, who they like right now, lost the superbowl for them.

This is a very good point.. with Rex we know that the bears are set to fight against themselves.

if they got simms, that might change.. he won't lead them in amazing play.. or even bring them to the promise land.. but. he will control the ball/game better then Rex.. and might teach orton?? how to do things better.

The Baltimore Ravens are among the three finalists to sign veteran free agent offensive tackle Barry Sims, but appear to be trailing behind the St. Louis Rams and the San Francisco 49ers....

Not anymore.
Should the Vikings take a look at picking up a younger vet in Simms?
I for one do not like JDB and Simms has proven he can win in the NFL, so I'd be happy replacing "Baby Hands" Booty with Phil's son.
Simms has experience in the WCO and a high football IQ.
If he is healthy enough to play, I would feel much better having him on our roster.

I would only bring him in in an emergency. If he is not good enough to start for the Bucs and if he is not separationg himself from a group that includes brian Griese, Luke McCown and a rookie, what chance does he have to come here and amount to any more than a blonder Bollinger?

I think it had more to do with his salary than not separating himself from the others.
He also has a much better arm and better pocket presence than Bollinger.
At the very least he could make a good veteran backup when Gussy retires in a year or two...unless we're planning on using Gus up until he is useless like we did with Brad.

Wjat has Simms done in his NFL to demonstrate that he is a better QB than Bollinger? Hell, Holcolm has better career stats that Simms and look how he turned out.

So you can see by the career stats that both Bollinger and Holcolm have equal or better career stats in the following categories:

I am not sure how to take those stats and make a compelling case for why he would be a better QB except that he is probably much more photogenic holding a clipboard.
