By now, you know the drill. Our fifth annual December NFL re-draft is an exercise in knowing now what we wish we would have known then. In our re-selected first round, rookie-season production for the most part wins out over projection, and hindsight always proves 20-20. Which is why it was a no-brainer to kick off our draft re-do with Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco, who have looked like anything but rookie quarterbacks in 2008.

Here's the way things should have unfolded in New York on April 26:

I think it makes more sense to redo a draft 2 or 3 years after.
The fact that they have Vince Young as their #1 pick for 06 version is laughable.
Noone knows how some of these rookies will pan out in the next couple of years.
if we were to redo the 06 or 07 draft, We'd be able to do it more accurately IMO

I love these types of article, but I have to agree with "i_bleed_purple". With the season not even over, it's too early to say who's better and who's not.
I agree with many of the re-picks, but there's alot of them I don't agree with too.

John Carlson at number 15 for example. He fell on many draft boards as the 2008 NFL Draft came closer and closer (a big reason was a disappointing combine) and I can agree that he was very underated after seeng him play this season. But number 15.... that's way too early! I can see him being drafted 28th by his current team, Seahawks.

(...and what the hell happened to Fred Davis? I have not heared a word from him since the draft)

this guy's picks made me laugh. why would the dolphins draft ryan when they already got pennington?

How has Dorsey played this year? I know their D is awful but I would be curious as to his contributions on the line.

Not so good, he has started all the games this season, but has only 36 tackles, one sack and a forced fumble. He didn't record a sack untill week 10.
After the Chiefs lost Jared Allen, they arguably have the worst D-line in the NFL.

not arguably, they do.
Look at the article posted about the best pass rush in the league (can't remember what hte tread was called)
it said that the cheifs could double their sack total in the next 3 weeks, and still set an all-time nfl record for least sacks in a single season.

Heard Mike and Mike having a discussion along these lines this morning........

Specifically talked about how well Reggie is doing compared to a undrafted FA RB.
Reggie has like 1/4 the yards and 1/5th the TD's.
Then they talked about how the talking heads were bashing the Texans for taking MW over Bush and how none of them (well very few) have ever come out and admitted they were wrong.

Of course Greeny then went into a Jets diatribe about how big a bust he thought Gholston was gonna be.

Who were they yutz's on here who argued with me and wanted to move up to get that cat...... ;D ;D ;D
