I will be praying that we don't sign this guy.
    He is way overrated IMO.
It would probably not be as bad as the Denard Walker signing, but close.

Re: Samuel to set the bar for cornerbacks

I think Samuel would be a perfect cover 2 cornerback and also in this system it would be a good signing however it would take alot of our cap money and we have other areas of concern at widereciever and defensive end, i hope we use our money there..

Re: Samuel to set the bar for cornerbacks

Truth be told, I don't see this staff going after any CB's in FA or in the draft.
Even though our young CB's had a tough time of it last year, each shows alot of promise.

I will caveat that statement with one alibi and that is if the staff moves one of its young CB's (i.e. Griffin) back to safety then maybe, just maybe they will go after a guy of lesser quality than a Samuel however, now that it apears that our Pot smoking, stairwell sexing S has been cleared by the NFL our S issues aren't quite as bad as it seems.

I bet our lineup looks like this in the Secondary next year.

    LCB - Winfield
    LS - Sharper
    RS - Smith
    RCB - Griff.

    Backups
CB, McCauley, Gordon (both could even push Griff for starting job)
    S - Vet via FA.
Could be Doss or another low level talent.
    S - Via draft.
Again, now that Smiths issues might be over, they probably won't use the 17th pick there put now can take BPA.
Could still be a S but I am not sure now.
    Still working the mock.

So, you're implying that your mock has a basis in reality?

    I try.
    ;D

Believe it or not I actually study everyone of the teams, thier needs and then pick pretty much BPA (sometimes need) for each of them.

I use several sources as my scouts with "Ourlads" being my primary means of determining if the player I plug in for each team fits thier scheme.

Because I don't follow college ball I don't let my love of a specific player drive my selections as you see with alot of mock drafts.

Re: Samuel to set the bar for cornerbacks

i really wished dwight never would have had those off field issues cause that might be leading him to get cut, he is a real good player, but if we do then i see us take a S with our pick, probably smith, i would love to get phillips, but he most likely will not be there at our pick

Apparently Kenny Phillips` stock is dropping and needs to have a great combine to be picked where he was originally expected. Smith is doing the opposite and is supposedly on the rise, so it`ll be interesting to see who goes where.
