    Sacking the Quarterback

    http://www.vikings.com/NewsArticle_qbsacks12408.aspx
En route to a berth in Super Bowl XLII, the New England Patriots have shown that they can score more than any other team in the NFL and the New York Giants have shown that they can win on the road more than any other team in the league. Surely these two teams are superior in other areas of the game as well, that’s why they’re going to be playing for the league’s championship in less than two weeks.

One of those “other” areas that both the Patriots and Giants excel in is sacking the quarterback. And as history indicates, superiority in sacking the quarterback is no minor matter.

The Patriots and Giants rank first and second, respectively, in sacking the quarterback, with New York boasting a league-best 53 quarterback drops and New England right behind them with 47 of their own. Looking back at recent Super Bowl participants, it’s no surprise that the two entrants battling for the Lombardi Trophy have experienced success in rushing the quarterback...

Marr and company are going to point toward Osi Umenyiora as the prototypical DE and use it in another thread.

Every year they find a new twist to add to the NFL.Last year was oh man you need duel RBs in this day in age.Now its you have to have 4 elite DEs to go to the superbowl.
Everyone knows a good pass rush means a good defense. Its easier said then done tho.

Theres NOTHING greater then a Florida Gator!
