I don't think too many people really care about an S-bomb.

I really hope not. Not to mention that he is one of the most knowledgeable commentators on TV. I almost puked when I turned on the second game and heard Trent Dilfer's voice.

I don't care about an 's' bomb. However, i do care whether my kids hear it or not. I have no problem with the apology. Much better to say you're sorry, then not say it and tell the bosses it's no big deal.

I agree completely with this. I have the same problem with the usage in that situation. I don't have any kids, but I wouldn't want them hearing that if I did. It may be common usage, but to my mind it's still wrong. "Everybody does it" just is not a good enough excuse. The apology was much appreciated from where I sit.
Just because many people do or say something, doesn't make it any more right. It's like I try to tell my roommate's 17-year-old . Just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD.
It saddens me to realize that "common courtesy" is becoming an oxymoron.
