Panthers | S. Smith says he is done returning punts

Stan Olson, of the Charlotte Observer, reports Carolina Panthers WR Steve Smith said he is done returning punts after his Week 8 game. Smith returned one punt 16 yards, but he fumbled the second with the team starting the drive at their 2-yard line. "That'll be my last time back there," said Smith. When asked if that was his decision to make, Smith responded: "Last time I checked I've only got one person to answer to. That's my maker." When asked about Smith's statement, head coach John Fox said, "Well, I don't know what he said after the game, but that could have been in frustration. I don't know; I've not talked to him about it. "He was very open-minded to do it in that game, so we'll revisit that as we move forward."
