ST. LOUIS — Talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh said if the St. Louis Rams came up for sale, he might be interested in buying the team....

He's seriously that rich?

even if he did I highly doubt that the NFL would approve someone like him as a owner.

Exactly why they would not approve him. The NFL is already trying to create a better image for itself, You honestly think they would approve a owner that has made publicly racist comments?

It would be interesting to see what would happen.
I think the legal fallout from not approving the sale would be unique.
IMHO I think the NFL would use apply some more subtle pressure to keep him from buying the team before it ever came to that.

That was my thought, what does an NFL team go for? The vikings went for 650million I believe, I imagine that is on the low end of the spectrum. Does st. louis have a newer stadium or do they still need a new one?

They have the Edward Jones dome.
It opened in 1995 when the Rams moved to St Louis.
However, they have a problem with it.
There is something in the Ram's leaset hat says that they have to make a certain % of the average stadium income for NFL teams.
With all the newer stadiums going up since 1995, the Edward Jones dome is in danger of not making that criteria anymore...

He just got done with a contract where he was making 12m/year, and he's been doing this for 20+ years, i'm sure not at this compensation, but still.

Conservative radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh Wednesday inked an eight-year contract for around $400 million, underscoring how radio is spending big sums on bankable talent to compete in the crowded entertainment field.

Mr. Limbaugh's compensation of $38 million a year, plus a signing bonus of about $100 million

He would be an entertaining owner, lot of controversy.
