Details are sketchy, but a Boston TV and radio sportscaster has apparently reported that the knee injury suffered by San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers is much more serious than he or the team has let on...Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please. Re: Rumors Surface of Philip Rivers Torn ACL
Thats to bad.
As a fan of a team that is out of the playoffs I now hope for the best players on each team compete against each other so I can watch a good game.
I guess we will find out what ole Billy Boy is really made of (charges QB).Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: Rumors Surface of Philip Rivers Torn ACL
I have read that it is more likely his MCL instead of his ACL, and that he is still a game time decision.

When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

Re: Rumors Surface of Philip Rivers Torn ACL
I hope he plays, with Gates and LT banged up as well, these guys appear to be limping into the AFC championship game.
I don't know how much of a challenge the Chargers will be for the Patriots, but I hate to see New England walk into the superbowl.

Re: Rumors Surface of Philip Rivers Torn ACL
IMO, he'll play. With cold temps and 25 MPH winds the Chargers probably won't do much moe than hand the ball off.

Re: Rumors Surface of Philip Rivers Torn ACL
I hope LT, Rivers, and Gates all play. Because when it is all over, I do not want to hear about "They beat us, but we weren't all healthy." I don't want to hear any excuses.

Re: Rumors Surface of Philip Rivers Torn ACL
What about the injury report?
If they know, don't they have to report it?
We know that Belly-Check doesn't report accurately, but even he would have a difficult time with this one.
How do you hide that injury?
If they aren't saying anything, he has to play, wouldn't you think.
I can see why they wouldn't want to say anything, there are many reasons.

They just have to quantify him as "Probable", "Questionable", "Doubtful", etc. along with whether or not he participated in practice.
They *may* (I'm not sure) also have to disclose what body party is causing the issue.
But they do NOT have to say "Torn ACL" or "Partially Torn ACL" or "Broken Anything".
