    Rudi Signs With The Lions

    http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/09/01/rudi-signs-with-the-lions/

Tom Kowalski of Mlive.com reports that veteran running back Rudi Johnson has agreed to terms with the Lions.
Johnson arrived in Detroit for a visit last night.
As we hear it, the Bengals were interested in possibly bringing him back.
The Texans and Jets also showed interest in Johnson.
In Detroit, Johnson is expected to serve as the No. 2 tailback, behind rookie starter Kevin Smith.

If his hamstrings are healthy, our division just got a lot tougher. I have tremendous respect for Rudi Johnson

Well the one thing that we can stop is the run, and as they say in Detroit, rebuilding since 1960.

Rudi Johnson is a decent RB... good pick up for the Lions... but point in fact the Lions just suck

That is a decent pick up and all, but it does not really "make our division tougher."
I have a lot of respect for the work Rudi has done over the years (I am kind of a Bengals fan because my brother is such a huge Who Dey fan) but he clearly does not have what it takes anymore to be all the affective in the NFL.
After his injury and Watson's rise last season, Lewis still went back to Rudi out of respect and to see what he still has. Lewis has always really liked Rudi, but it is clear that he must not be at a level even good enough to start of Chris Perry since Lewis let his boy go.
A solid pickup and backup for the Lions, but definitely nothing for us to fret over.
That said ... I am sure I just jinxed us into a 3 TD day from Rudi when we face them.

Last season, Rudi's hamstring never really had a chance to heal. He played thru injury all season. Unfortunatly he pulled his other hamstring in OTAs. I really think he can be the back he once was. It's not like he tore an ACL. He pulled a hammie. This signing does make the lions a lot more balance.

rudi isn't that great. they only way id be scared of a lions running game is if barry comes out of retirement and then id only be scared for barrys safety so he doesnt get engulfed by big pat. but rudi meh just another lions back that will have negative yards against us

They can sign all the RBs they want. They are still not going to run on the Vikings. Not worried.

Rudi Johnson is good player... not good enough of a player to put the Lions on our level.
The best part of my day is when I get down on my knees, with my head in my hands, and thank GOD for everything he has given me.

Last year the lions lost 1 less game than we did. We aren't light years ahead of them. Seeing that our Key Rookie broke out, while there own is looking like Superman so far this year.

I guess I will keep him on my fantasy team now.
Just won't play him against the Vikes D of course.
    ;D
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg
