Good. I guess I am in the minority but I thought the games in Pitt were some of the more entertaining ones of the year. When that ball was punted and stuck straight up in the turf when it hit, the expressions on the players faces were priceless. Football IMO is at it's best when mother nature is involved in the process.

Re: Rooney stands by Heinz Field - Upshaw wants field turf

As long as this is called the NFL it should continue to be played out doors, in bad weather, on bad surfaces, on occasion. College and highschool games will continued to be played outdoors in the elements.

Well if the NFL switches to an arena league shouldn't small time games be played in (hockey) arenas? As the small time game usually tries to mimic the professional leagues.

As ridiculous as that sounds thats what they did for lacrosse here. It was an outdoor game, NLL moved into arenas with a thin astroturf on top. Now we recreational league players play on melted ice hockey pads, because thats what they do in the pros, but we don't get a 1/4" of astroturf.
