Re: The rookie WR class - happy with Williamson?

I thought we should have got DJ with the 7th pick and hope for Williamson to drop to the 18th. I dont think any other team was really wanting him. Just my opinion.

    Go Vikes!!!!

I was one of the guys that wasn't too happy with the pick at the time. The verdict is still out for me. I'm waiting to see them use him a little more in the passing game and see how he develops. Then I'll decide whether he was worth the 7th pick.

I'm fine with Troy. I was a big Merriman supporter. The one that gets me still is we didn't get Sprooles (sp?) in the 4th round. He would have taken care of our kickoff problems and been a great change of pace in the backfield. He's tearing it up with the Chargers.

I'm very happy with Troy Williamson. He has speed and that is what is needed. I also think given the oppertunity he could make more big plays....as he has already (kinda) showen us. YEA move him up the depth chart or play to him more often,I know alot of this was already mentioned,Just agreeing

    Can't wait till next Sunday!!!!!!

Re: The rookie WR class - happy with Williamson?

Troy has shown that he has the speed, the hands and is learning
the pace of the game in the pro leagues.

This kid's gonna be the next Viking WR threat..

combine him with nate's verticle leap, T.T.'s smart route running
and we have a great combination!! now we have both Robinsons to throw
in to mix things up a bit. and we have 2 Rock solid TE's..

if we could finalize the rb situation, and fix the seams in the O line we'd be watching a completly different team out there every sunday.

i know the rythem is faulting right now.. but i'm not handing over the hope that after the break we storm out like the div champs everyone expected us to be.

as far as the draft went.. i don't think we coulda drafted, or free agented any better then what those guys did. wasn't it studwell who set that up?

I,m happy as can be with Troy.Perhaps the question the way things are going is if troy is happy we drafted him LOL.
If winning isn,t everything, why keep score?

    Go Vikes!!!!

I have watched 2 KC games, and he is not this game changing player that I have seen so far.

I think it is hype from KC! He does not take players on, he tries to use his speed to go around lineman, and that can take you out of plays. He is not that good at shedding tackles.

I am not that impressed with him and am not sorry that we did not get him!

I could be wrong, like I said I have seen them only play 2 games. But in the preseason game against the Vikes, and the game against Denver 2 weeks ago he did not impress me in either game.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Troy is amazing, what other 1ST round wr has done ANYTHING?
Braylon Edwards has the same amount of recieving yards in 1 less game? I will also throw in Chris Henry, a 3rd round pick with "character problems", 10catches 130yards 1TD.

Me and DV really wanted Chris Henry.. We knew he would be a good player.. Braylon got most of his yards off that one catch.. But I guess alot of Williamson's yards were off big plays too

During the draft, i thought they should have went DJ at 7 then clayton at 18. I know clayton hasnt done anything yet, but he is in baltimore with boller.

Now, i still think we should have gotten DJ at 7 but then try to get Twill at 18 or get clayton. I am very surprised on how fast Twill progressed. I was expecting a 30 catch year, 2 tds, but most of the producting comming at the end of the year.
