Re: Rodgers is better than Favre
Which old-time great do you want to compare him to? We had this discussion before about him and Tark ... and he threw less interceptions, more touchdowns and more yards per game than Fran the Man ... who else?

Dawson - 170 yards, 1.4 TDs, 1.1 INTs
Starr - 126 yards, 1.1 TD, 1 INT
Montana - 211 yards, 1.5 TDs, .6 INTs
Marino - 253 yards, 1.7 TDs, 1 INT
Unitas - 191 yards, 1.4 TDs, 1.2 INTs
We can go on and on and on as you throw out this lame "14 game" theory.
Keep spinning it however you want. Shouldn't players back then have been able to play longer considering they played less games? And "40 more games" is low, it is more than that ... and should not be scoffed at. The fact that he played more games at a high level should not be counted against him.
Simply put, Favre is one of the greatest to ever play the game. Almost universal top 10 QB and to say Rodgers is close to that at this point is crazy. The longevity is not something to hold against him, but should be admired, whether he had ever donned the Purple or not.

Re: Rodgers is better than Favre
Rodgers is the best QB in the league. No one has his combination of accuracy, toughness, arm and smarts. I think he might be an all time great. However, he needs a few more season to solidify his ranking.
This is coming from an avid Packer hater...excuse me while i wash my mouth out with soap.
I think he is similar to Adrian Peterson, who i believe to be a top 5 back of all time. However, he needs several more seasons at this level to solidify his ranking.

Toughness? How many games has Manning sat out of due to a bang to the head? Brady? Hell, Raplisberger played a game with his nose sideways. I'd imaginet hat didn't feel very good.

When I think of Rodgers, I think of alot of things, definitely talented, quick, accurate, smart. But tough is not one of his top attributes.

Re: Rodgers is better than Favre
I never said he was the toughest. I said that he had the best combination of those attributes. I would also like to point out that Manning and Brady's line were some of the best int he league almost every year. Rodgers has been sacked relentlessly and gets up play after play. If you ask me who I want at QB right now, it's Rodgers. He's younger, more agile, throws the best deep ball in the game and is intelligent. Manning and Brady does some things better but Rodgers can kill you with his arm almost as good as these guys and his legs have to be accounted for.

I place Rodgers in the top 5 currently, but I think for certain that Brady and Manning (Peyton, not the other one) rank above him right now.

Yeah ... Brady and Manning are in a tier of their own.

Rodgers is in the same tier as Rivers and Roethlisberger. That is probably your top five, though there could be plenty of arguments made for Vick, Ryan, Romo, Eli and the rising Josh Freeman. But I would guess most top 5 lists would be Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Rivers and Roethlisberger ... with Rodgers falling between 3 and 5.

Re: Rodgers is better than Favre
Rodgers MIGHT have the best all-around skillset of any QB, but he's not the best QB. Until he shows he can actually win a game by himself, he'll place no better than third. He's never had a bad team. Always had Jennings and Driver. Got Finley in 09, improved OL last season. Stick him on the Colts O, see how he does. Manning makes some average dudes like Garcon and Collie look like seasoned vets.
