What an idiot. Why would you discuss your draft strategy before the draft. Make teams guess, if other teams know who you are targetting they can come in and take the player ahead of you, or if they want someone else they can wait until after you pick since they know you wont take them. In poker it's best not to show your hand to early, the draft is like poker.

Seems those needs are pretty well known.
Also, seems the guys coming in to talk to our coaches are pretty well known too.

like we bring in guys we're not serious about drafting though too...there's a smokescreen.

All in all.
He didn't really say anything most folks weren't already guessing anyway.

As a fan I love to know everything they are doing, but as a fan who understands the strategy of the draft, I also love it when they don't tell us stuff.

How many of us knew the Vikes were targeting TJ?
How many of us knew they scouted/showed interest in Robison?

Sure we will know about the "Household" name, "Top Tier" visists but its how they scout the guys in the later rounds and keep it a secret that is were the strategy comes into play of "Smoke Screens".
