What the Packers are planning to do may be unprecedented in NFL history.
If the rest of the off-season, training camp and the preseason unfold the way the Packers envision it will, they will start the regular season with Aaron Rodgers, Brian Brohm and Matt Flynn as their quarterbacks. None of them has started a game in the NFL....

I think that point right there hammers home how bad the QB situation is in the league right now.
Teams with good number 2's are resigning them to nice contracts so they aren't hitting the open market and the guys that are hitting the open market are so bad they aren't worth resigning.
I think it will become a trend to grow your own backup just like you do a starter to ensure you always have someone that can run the system.

Especially since they will all be playing week 1 after Allen makes each of them his bitch :)

They are in no worse shape than we were in last year at the QB position. I would give the starters equal chance for success and I wouldn't take Bollinger or holcolm over either of their current backups.

But you need someone good enough to run it. If these guys fail/get injured, GB is in a world of shit. Also, more than 1 QB has had his career ruined by tossing him in to early.
I'm not sure what the FA QB pool looks like over the next few years.

essentially they have an all rookie qb corp..as great as favre was, theres no way anybody can watch him and learn anything..brett played the game his own way, and thats what made him so good, so basically it made no difference whether or not rodgers sat around watching him all this time

I hear ya but who is out there that you consider good right now and with the advent of the huge CAP teams now have to work with, no one will hit the market unless they are either "No good" or a guy who "Wants to Start".
Both don't really qualify as a guy good enough to come off the bench to "Run it".
