According to Raiders.com Raiders owner Al Davis has passed away at the age of 82.I am NOT here to provide good football insight or rational observations. I am an emotional 19 year old Viking fan and I expect you to adjust your expectations from my posts.

I guess this means that his daughter takes over the full management of the team. I wonder if the Raiders will win one for the gipper tomorrow against the Texans? In reading the obits I notice that no one is mentioning that his interference on the field the last few years led to a shabby performance by the Raiders and to a year when no one would coach for him anymore except for a former coach that came out of retirement for a year. You can say one thing about Al, he was certainly colorful.

I know people scoff at Al Davis' later years, but they guy was pretty much the reason the NFL and AFL merger happened.
RIP, Al. Football will forever bear your emblem. For the absolute best.
I love how he was the only owner to walk out of the labor union agreement during the final vote. The guy was 100% original, for better or worse. Stuck to his guns. Football is better because of him, without question.
If the Vikings or Lions don't win the Super Bowl this year, I hope it's the Raiders.
Again, RIP Al. Thanks for the memories.
(PS.... he was 100% right about Lane Kiffin)Last edited by C Mac D; 10-09-2011 at 04:23 AM.
