It would be kinda nice just so that he could work with Williamson a bit - maybe show him how to run routes, or even just other non-football stuff like dealing with the media. Whatever, it's not gonna happen, but it would be cool...

He will retire. No one will waste a roster spot on him or he wont be happy with the roll they want him to play.

No disrespect to Rice but he isn't someone the Vikings need. If they want a WR coach, hire Cris.

Vikings #80 should have gotten retired the minute after Carter retired....he was the greatest player in Vikings history. Also, I believe that stats do not do Cris Carter justice, he had the best hands of all time and I think that even though Tim Brown caught more balls and might end up with better stats, Carter should be above him historically....I consider Carter the best to ever play the game, and thats biased but I never saw Rice make the plays Carter did. Carter could catch anything and everything, and Rice was more of a speed guy so I think his numbers look better cuz of that! Carter made all those catches and TDs without the track star speed....he displayed all the intricacies of playing WR, he perfected the position. All those sideline grabs, keeping his feet in bounds, all those one handed impossible grabs.....man he was great!

I don't think anybody was saying Carter was better than Rice.

What 3 things? Carter played less years than Rice and made more athletic plays than Rice. Rice may have more TDs but look at what team he played for all those years.

It's like Emmitt Smith vs Barry Sanders. I would take Barry anytime. He never had a line. Smith always had a line. Smith had a great team around him and Sanders didn't.

Vikes were always average except for 1998 while the niners were above average for several years. I may be biased too and I have no disrespect for Rice but IMO Carter was more valuble.
