    Rex Ryan Buries Game Ball

In an effort to get his New York Jets to focus on nothing but Sunday's upcoming home game against the Miami Dolphins, Ryan gathered the team around him on the practice field back at the Florham Park, N.J., facility and made a potent gesture. The outspoken second-year head coach took a game ball from Monday night's 45-3 shellacking at the hands of the New England Patriots and buried it in the ground.

What a yutz. This is almost as stupid as the Ax/Wood chopping thing Jack did down there in Jax.

It's not that dumb. Coaches do different things to inspire their players, and if a symbolic act like burying a football can help a team get over that loss, then it's successful.
I am NOT here to provide good football insight or rational observations. I am an emotional 19 year old Viking fan and I expect you to adjust your expectations from my posts.

    True.

That was an ugly beating the jets got.....burying the ball is good psychology.

Ryan is a master showman and psychologist.

We'll hear more from him and his teams.
It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.

I remember when Brady and the Pats came to MN a few years back and beat the crap out of us. After that every team we faced had our number and just went the to Patriots play book. I wonder if that will happen to the Jets?

Burying is OK, but shooting a couple rifle rounds through, now that would send a statement, and be very cool.

I hope he didn't disturb Jimmy Hoffa.

I really like Ryan. I think he's a great personality.

In the offseason I'm going to start camping out at the bars a town over, where he lives. My goal is to drink a beer with him.

Minnesota buried it's head coach, and it seems to have worked.

Ravens had that shovel and sword last year. Whatever that was.

Personality is a good thing. The more the better. Sure he is rude and in your face, but if it works on the players, I say do it. Sure is fun to watch that is for sure.

I think that kindof stuff is good for young ball players, but in the end, that wasn't designed to inspire a pro ball player.

It was designed for the media. Nothing more, nothing less.
