WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. (AP) -- One son of Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid was accused of pulling a gun on a motorist following a traffic dispute, and another was found to have drug paraphernalia in his car following a crash, authorities said Wednesday.

Officers detained Garrett Reid and recovered two used hypodermic needles and a knife. One officer said Reid was unable to follow simple directions or understand what was told to him.

In a statement to police, the 23-year-old Garrett Reid said he had used heroin earlier in the day, admitted he was speeding at the time of the accident and said he did not know what color the traffic light was when he went through the intersection, according to the affidavit.

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) -- An adult son of Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid pleaded guilty to drug and traffic offenses on Thursday, while another son decided to go to trial on drug and weapons charges.

Garrett Reid, 24, pleaded guilty to recklessly endangering another motorist, driving while under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and minor traffic offenses.

Police said he admitted to having used heroin after he ran a red light on Jan. 30 and injured another motorist. Police said they found syringes with heroin, testosterone, a variety of pills and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle.

At the same courthouse on Thursday, 22-year-old Britt Reid requested a jury trial on charges stemming from a traffic dispute in which police said he brandished a handgun at another motorist. That incident also allegedly occurred Jan. 30.

Britt Reid faces charges of carrying a firearm without a license _ a felony -- and misdemeanor charges of assault, making terroristic threats and drug possession.
