    Re: Redskins/Broncos trade

I hope this works out for them. They have a good chance of getting a good WR and Corner. They could also use some depth on the o-line. They could be in trouble if they don't win this year, though.

I heard on my local sports radio station that this was not true and that the redskins have completely denied attempting to trade draft picks.

In the Washington Post this morning, the Skins denied shopping the #9 pick, but there was no mention of moving/acquiring other picks. However, acquiring a second first round pick does leave open the option of trading their #9 pick.

Also, this news is available on the Skins website right now.

Additionally, when people talk about assigning value to a draft pick, draft picks in the current year's draft have more value than next year's; the value of a pick in the next year's draft is basically that round +1, so a first next year is worth a second rounder this year. If you subscribe to that school of thought, the Skins have traded a second, third and fifth round pick for a late first. Not terrible. Of course, it could blow up in their face and they could lose out on a top 10 pick, but that pick could just as easily be a bust.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I believe the Skins got ripped off. Just playing devil's advocate above.

Broncos are in good shape with that one. I heard that the Skins might package those picks and move up into the top 4.

Skins can make a little run if they grab a corner and WR. A DE would help them a lot too.

Skins kind of got ripped a little. Considering Denver wanted to move out of the first round.

'SKINS PREPPING FOR MOVE TO TOP?
A league source tells us that the Washington Redskins plan to parlay their Tuesday acquisition of the 25th overall pick in the draft, from the Broncos, into an effort to move into the top four picks, in an effort to snare receiver Braylon Edwards.
