im sorry to tell you this but none of those stats matter. its either you get the job done in the playoffs or you dont and watch the rest of the games at home. plain and simple. last year eli played like crap all year, but when it came down to the playoffs, he got the job done.
there were only 2 games in all of 2007 where eli didnt throw an int. the guy had more than 20 ints in the regular season of 2007. but from the wild card playoffs to the superbowl he only threw 1 int. see the difference?
Tjack/chilly and bevell should be canned.
Sorry to tell you this, but Eli threw 18 INT's in his 2nd year starting (25 total starts), plus 3 more in the ensuing playoff game that they lost to Carolina.
Eli was 10/18, 113 yards, 3 INT's. 0 TD's & a QB rating of 35.
Eli should have been canned. Right?
See the difference?
Do you want to try for Eli's 3rd year in the league now?
17 INT's plus another INT in their playoff loss to the Eagles. (1 & done).
Ooops! Eli should have been canned again! Right?
If you said no, you are a hypocrite.
Starting to sink in now?
I find it laughable that you expect more out of a 2nd round "project" QB, than you do out of the #1 pick overall.
Maybe it's the other way around.
You (as in 'the FO") expect more out of the #1 pick overall-not the 2nd round project.
There is a reason he was picked #1.
That is why they give him more chances.
Is that the right way to think?
Who knows.
Fans were calling for Eli's head (and the coach's) too.
Sound familiar?
It's a gamble.
Could next year be the year Chilly and TJ get it done?
Certainly.
Could it be the worst season in Vikings history?
yep.
I think the big picture needs to come into play.
What does this team want most (next to a SB title?)
A stadium.
We need public support to achieve this.
We won't get support if the public is not behind the team.
Perhaps a change in HC, OC, QB, whatever, can help.
The MVP for the Eagles is Akers that is who beat us hitting 50+ yrd field goals.
It was a good game and the Eagles record did not reflect their football talent.
This is something you will not like but the Eagles have been the Pats of the NFC for a while.
Next year the Vikings coming out even a better team learning to take care of the football.

why would you cut matt ryan? he didnt have 45.4 passer rating? as far as i recall he might of had 2 ints but he also threw 2 tds and his completion % was 65. not like your boy tjoke whose completion % was 42.9. so no i wouldnt cut him. cuz the team didnt lose cuz of him. matt ryan didnt make a bad decision to throw an int that was picked off for a td.So the Falcons should cut Matt Ryan? I mean he's started just as many games, faced a much worse pass D, and couldn't get it done.
Let's bring him in!
Some quarterbacks didn't even get into the playoffs. There should be a lot of free agent QB's coming up!
WOOOO!
did the vikings lose completly because of tjoke, no. but was he one of main variables involved in the loss, along with chilly, bevell; yes tjoke was one of the main variables involved. is this starting to sink in now?
p.s. the panties you got with tarvaris jacksons face on them need to be burned.

Re: Recent QB performances against the Eagles
lol you're a little bit mad huh? Awwwww
I'm not denying T-Jack had a bad game. I'm pointing out the fact he played very well since getting his job back up until the point he played a team every quarterback has done crappy against for the last month and a half. Any quarterback going against this team will struggle and has struggled of late and not every fan of that team will be calling for the quarterback's head immediately.
Tarvaris getting us through the final stretch of the season effectively seems to have been forgotten.Skol Vikings! Go Cubs!

Matt Ryan threw "safe" INT's that weren't returned for TD's.
Those don't count.

??? Yet you're slobbering all over the jock of the #1 pick of the draft QB, who had a 35.0 passer rating with 3 picks in his 1st playoff game, after having 5 more starts than a kid who was a project coming out of the draft?"Vikes" wrote:

LMAO!
Given the same amount of experience when they both played their first playoff game, certainly you should have higher expectations out of Eli than you would Jackson.

Re: Recent QB performances against the Eagles
in like 2 other threads people are bitching about not getting pennington, as if he didn't throw 4 ints and fumble a ball yesterday.
i'm sure he would have fared so much better with us with the way the offensive line played.
listen, if they can go get a stud vet qb you can't pass it up.
but people who think if we trade for a losman, or get a david carr, or any of these mid teir qbs and play them over jackson and think thats getting us to the super bowl didn't watch the game yesterday through anything but "i hate tavaris" glasses.
people have to get outta this dream world that we are just a decent qb away from the promise land.
the o-line is not that good, and childress is still running this offense.
so again, unless we get a qb that can make any coach, especially childress, look good we are gonna be in trouble.

YEah - and Manning's pick by Samuel (the same guy who picked Tjack) was returned to the Giant 1 yard line, which was later punched in by the Eagles for a TD.
Interesting.....

We kicked his ass in the meadowlands.
Philly beat him there twice this season, once when all the pressure was on in the playoffs.
Last season, he was incredible in three ROAD playoff games and the SB which was played in 'Zona.
CLEARLY, playing in the "pressure pot" of NY is too much for him.
If I were Tom Coughlin, I would petition the NFL to play ALL Giants games on the road.
Just my opinion.A good friend will help you move...a best friend will help you move a body.
