Dolphins | Trade agreement reached for Welker

Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports the New England Patriots have agreed to a trade with the Miami Dolphins for restricted free agent WR Wes Welker. The Patriots have already agreed to contract terms with the receiver, but rather then go through the motions required with restricted free agents, the team will instead acquire his rights from the Dolphins and then proceed to sign him. It is still unclear as to what the Dolphins will receive in the deal.

Am I alone in saying that Wes Welker is unworthy of a 2nd round pick?

NE hasn't seemed to make a lot of mistakes in personel lately so I guess you give the benefit of the doubt. Welker is young, had 67 catches last year for 687 yards, returns kickoffs (ave. 22 yds/ret) and punts (9.1 yds/ret). has only had one kickoff (2004) for TD and no punts. Nothing really stands out but if he was really good it would be a first.
