Randy Moss lands one-year 49ers deal!

Couldn't have happened to a nicer team.

Eager to prove himself and no doubt he will. To bad we don't need a receiver.

Damn I was hoping the Saints would swallow this poison pill. This is only going to work if they land Manning as well. If not, good luck to Alex Smith haha. Moss will be frustrated, pouting, and driving them crazy by week 4.

I think Moss will regain his Patriots form and surpass the expectations of many here. I think the Niners just got a lot stronger.

I would rather pay Moss a $1.75 mil salary, none of which is guaranteed, and a chance to prove himself rather than play Emmanuel Arceneaux as the #2 receiver opposite Harvin.
Our intimidating, deep threat WR corp currently looks like this;
Harvin
Arceneaux
Jenkins
Burton
Taylor
Adams
Analyzing Vikings' roster entering free agency position-by-position | 1500 ESPN Twin Cities ? Minnesota Sports News & Opinion (Twins, Vikings, Wolves, Wild, Gophers)Outlook: The Vikings desperately need at least one outside receiver to complement Harvin and Jenkins, who is a borderline No. 2 at this stage in his career. They probably won't get in a bidding war for Vincent Jackson, but a younger, "B"-level receiver such as Pierre Garcon could be an option. This is one of the deepest groups in free agency. Camarillo won't be back and Aromashodu did so little with his opportunities the Vikings aren't counting on him either.

Moss & Harvin would at least give Ponder more opportunity to succeed at QB & build his confidence. Giving him receivers that don't get open or don't have great hands won't accomplish that. Not saying Moss would guarantee us a playoff shot, but he'd certainly help make us a better team with a few more wins.
Wins do a lot for morale & team cohesion. We won 3 games last year & this year have already lost several veterans, depleting not only our OL, but other positions as well. How many wins do you think we'll have this year after replacing those vets with rookie draft picks & basketball players?
As far as letting Devin Aromashodu & our 2nd round pick battle it out for the spot opposite Harvin......well first off Aromashodu isn't even a Viking & our second round pick last year was a TE, not a WR. The only WR we drafted last year was Burton in the 7th.
If you mean 2nd round this year, there's no guarantee we'll sign a WR in the 2nd or even at all.
Jenkins btw, still remains on the roster. He hasn't been great at all & he'll be less than that this year after the knee injury last year.

Wonder how he will be after he was out of the league for one year?! That is the question.
Happy Father's Day!
