    ST. LOUIS (AP) The St. Louis Rams signed free agent cornerback Michael Hawthorne to a one-year contract Monday.

    Hawthorne spent the last two seasons with Green Bay after three with New Orleans. He was selected by the Saints in the sixth round of the 2000 draft.

    He has played in 58 games, starting 14. He has 127 tackles with one sack, three interceptions, one fumble recovery, three forced fumbles and 53 special teams tackles.

    Terms of the contract were not announced.

    i don't know and it doesn't really matter cuz the thing that they can't do is lose anything on defense as long as they aren't signing anyone new...

    Damn, thats like a vicious cycle those guys have going. At least we broke out of it finally. No more Denard Walker, Cris Dishman, Dale Carter!!!
