Re: Rams fire Linehan; Haslett takes over as HC

Hopefully he returns as O-Cord for the Vikings next year under a new HC.

But also keep in mind, the Rams FO sucks.. Its not all on Linehan in my mind.

Re: Rams fire Linehan; Haslett takes over as HC

I think Linehan would be a very good HC.
I like to think we would treat him better than this:

Considering how badly his team began to publicly call him out in the media, it was no surprise that the Rams wasted little time in firing former Vikings offensive coordinator Scott Linehan as their head coach. The Rams have been brutal all season, allowing 31 or more points in all four of their losses, and players like Marc Bulger, Torry Holt and Steven Jackson all threw Linehan under the bus last week with comments directed at getting him fired. A press conference is scheduled for today to make the announcement official.

Id like to see leslie frazier as the Head Coach and bring in Linehan as the oc.
if not him it looks like kiffin might be avalable soon.
By the way i was a childress backer until i saw how flat this time came out in the last couple games.
plus the turnovers and penelties on the road?
its just unacceptable with the amount of talent we have.

Wilf doesn't have the guts to be honest. He doesn't know enough about football, therefore thinks Childress is doing the best job that anyone could do. As much as I hated Red McCombs, he would not have let this go on for this long. The same goes for Jerry Jones. As much as I hate the guy for his ethics and ways, I have respect for him at the same time because he cares for his team and does whatever is in his power to make them a contender (ex: Going out and getting Terell Owens, and Pacman Jones on a risk. Also, hiring Wade Phillips). I'm not saying we should go out and get the next degenerate superstar that comes around, but we should think about some pickups and or trades that would benefit the team. And Childress just has to go. Until one or both of those things happen, we will be a 8-8 team at best. Hopefully Zygi realizes this, and becomes the great owner that we all know he can be. He obviously cares about his team a great amount, but has yet to figure out that it isn't all about being the nice guy. He has to take some initiative if he wants this team to succeed in the future. Scott Linehan was a key part of the Vikings organization when he was here. I would love having him back in Minnesota, as Offensive Coordinator or Head Coach. I would be absolutely thrilled either way. I think Zygi should give him a chance, but as I said before, I don't believe there is any way that Childress if fired in the middle of the season, if at all this year or this upcoming offseason.
    I actually agree with you.
It all starts at the top, which is the ownership group.
You can't knock him for getting Chilly, as he was an unknown as far as HC material, but he needs to light a fire under his ass to start getting going.
If he's still around after this year, I will have lost all faith in Zygi.
The man is a businessman, not a football fan.
We need an owner who is passionate aboug the game, like Jerry Jones.
Zygi has deep pockets which is good, but change is needed and the HC spot, and if that happens, then change is needed at the owner level.

Why? he's no Mike Tomlin. What has he done to improve this Def.?
I don't think Frazier has been very successful here in Minnesota.. with the players we have we should be much more dominant. Is it the scheme? probably but still i'm not satisfied of the job he has done here.

If Childress were to be fired, i want a proven HC.
Why gamble on someone who hasn't shown it yet? Rather have a guy who has proved he's done it, who's been there.

I hope they pull the tri-fecta this week and beat the patriots.
    We're bringing purple back.
