    Well put!
    LOL!

Wasn't he slow coming out of College and everyone said he would make up for it with his size and route running ability?
I don't think he over came it.
What ever physical ability he might be lacking, he seems to be lacking desire in addition.
You know, I believe you might be right on with the no desire.

I remember before the draft (I was researching it like crazy) a lot of coaches thought he would be a terrible WR, but had the potential to be an amazing TE.
He had great hands, descent speed for a TE (bad for a WR), and ran terrific routes.
Only problem was he wasn't big enough for a TE, but too big for WR.
The coaches wanted to know if he'd bulk up a bit with both pounds and some upper body muscle.
He was too lazy to add the bulk.
But then, reports were he was too lazy to lose the extra fatty weight to be a quicker WR.
So, he became essentially a worthless in-betweener, and it seems that's where he's stayed.
Now, if he'd like to be a pass catching TE for us (highly doubtful) we could always use another.
Otherwise, he'd be (as someone else stated earlier) another #3 or #4 receiver that we don't really need.
Hell, we don't even use Aundrae Allison enough yet, and I think he has more potential than Mike Williams.

    Mike Williams a good fit?

I see the USC star Mike Williams was waived by the raiders.
Would it hurt the Vikes to pick him up? I think it could be a good fit. We have some of the smallest and non physical recievers. Put him in there to be like Rodman and disrupt the secondary. Maybe he will find his calling.

    But, you are correct.
It could not hurt to pick him up and give him a shot.
How much worse off could we be?

He is extremely slow and has poor route running skills. The only thing he had going for him in college was his size and catching ability. But now his size isn't much of an advantage and he doesn't seem to remember how to catch the ball. I don't think he would make us any better at the position, just make it more jumbled.

I dont know why we ever get our hopes up when someone is cut or there is a good free agent avalible.....They never do anything, they are just content with losing and dont try to change things up.

We are never going to get Chad Johnson,Larry Fitzgerald or Derek Anderson...just because of this idiotic management and a stuck up coach who cant admit a mistake.
Define "Can't admit a mistake" for me please.

Additionally what constitutes a good FA.
Someone who's name you readily recognize or followed in college or someone that actually has the qualities and skills necessary for the scheme?

I don't put Williams in any catagory that warrants a roster spot.
If the staff does go out and get him I will, however, defend him just as much as I do guys like Fergy, Hutch, CT, B-wade, Shank, Leber, Doss, Williams (Tank not T-will) etc etc etc.

Seems to me alot of our issues don't center around any of our FA's but rather the lack of a NFL Ready QB, T, DE and maybe, just maybe WR (hard to judge our recievers when they don't see to many throws).
