Raiders release 2009 draft pick
Raiders waive sixth-round pick defensive end Stryker Sulak
Posted by Mike Florio on July 13, 2009 4:53 PM
The Oakland Raiders have found a new way to avoid holdouts by rookie draft picks.
The solution?
Cut them.
A league source tells us that the Raiders have waived defensive end Stryker Sulak, a sixth-round pick in the 2009 draft.
The formal designation was "waived/unsigned."
So, basically, the Raiders have cut Sulak before his rookie training camp.
Said the source, "I've never seen that happen before."

Looks like a solid player we all know how off the charts Al Davis is. This guy probably thinks Cable will get fired at the end of the season so maybe he just wanted out.

No explanation from Raiders on decision to cut rookie draft pick

Following the Oakland Raiders' surprising decision to cut ties with sixth-round rookie defensive end Stryker Sulak, which Mike Florio reported earlier today, a source close to the situation tells us that the team gave no reason for the decision to release him.
Per our source, Sulak hasn't been in any kind of trouble that would have prompted this abrupt removal from the roster.
In fact, Sulak and his agent haven't been contacted by the Raiders at this point.
"Shocked is the best way to put it," the source said. "This is a good kid who plays football, hunts and fishes. This is very dysfunctional. I'm shocked that they didn't even call him to let him know or call his agent.
