Re: Raiders go for a 76 yard field goal
What an interesting thread. I have no problem with the move personally. Lame duck coach ... trying to spice things up. Give your kicker who has as good a leg as anyone who has ever played a chance to set a virtually unbreakable record.
Why not.

Re: Raiders go for a 76 yard field goal
I have three reasons why it was a bad idea:
1) The record is 63 yards.
Janikowski has never kicked it more than 56, and is less than 50% from 50+.
What would make you think he can kick it 20 yards further than he ever has?
2) You've got 11 slow guys on the field trying to stop the return.
Yeah, they got him.
But you're up by 15 points and it's not worth the risk of getting them back in the game before half.
3) Don't you have a quarterback that can throw the ball 70 yards from his knees?
When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]

He most certainly has the leg strength.

What a horseshit call by Kiffin.
They wasted 20+ seconds on 3rd down that they could have used to try and pick up some extra yards.
The win was blowing against them.
WTF.
Stupid, stupid call.Zeus wrote:
