    George Blanda, Hall of Fame Football Player, Dies at 83

    George Blanda, a quarterback and place-kicker who played professional football longer than anyone else and who retired having scored more points than anyone else, died Monday. He was 83.

    I wish I could have had the privilege to watch Blanda play. Sounds like one hell of a baller. Drive the team down the field for the comeback TD...drive them down again and kick the game winning FG? Awesomeness right there.

    He was great.

    Remindful of Paul Hornung, who is still alive, I believe.

    Hornung was the last true triple-threat.....he could run, pass and kick--and all with great skill.

    I wish they played football like that today.
