Thread: QB Ratings

The NFL site has these ratings for the QB's.
1. Peyton Manning, Colts How much more can he do from a statistical standpoint? Now it's time to win the ring.
2. Tom Brady, Patriots He doesn't put up big numbers, but he gets it done when it counts. The guy is a legitimate star.
3. Daunte Culpepper, Vikings If not for Manning's amazing season, we'd all be talking about what Culpepper did. Now comes the hard part: Doing it without Randy Moss.
4. Donovan McNabb, Eagles When he finally got a legitimate weapon in Terrell Owens we saw how good McNabb can be. He elevated his game last season.
5. Michael Vick, Falcons He's a magical player at times, but he has to improve his passing. When that happens, look out.
6. Brett Favre, Packers He can still make some amazing plays with his arm, but he's not the same player he was a few years back. But we're glad he's back for another season.
7. Steve McNair, Titans Injuries crippled him last season, but he decided to keep playing instead of retiring. He's lost some weight and he's healthy again. But his team is crumbling around him.
8. Trent Green, Chiefs He had another huge year in 2004 from a numbers standpoint. He knows how to move the chains.
9. Matt Hasselbeck, Seahawks He started slow in 2004, but he came on in the end. With a new, fat contract, he's the man in Seattle. With no more worries, he should play more relaxed.
10. Chad Pennington, Jets The one concern with Pennington is his rotator cuff injury. Will he get his velocity back? If not, the Jets are in trouble.

I think for pre-season they got them picked about right.

That's fair. Execept for Favre and McNair. They belong below the list. :lol:

I like Pepp at #2, Brady is a product of a totally solid squad....

McNair definitely belongs on that list, and Favre is still throwing 30 TDs a year so it is hard to say no to him. I would definitely have Michael Vick at No. 4, but other than that I think this is a very good list heading into the year ... here's to C-Pep hitting No. 1 by the end ...

I would take Vick off the list. He is a gifted athlete, not a top-tier QB.

McNair is the definition of a tough guy and he is a good QB that deserves to be on the list. Vick is not a good passer so he should be lower than what he is.

No, he is not a top tier pocket passer, but that is not the definition of quarterback, bottom line is, you would be crazy to take four or five other QBs ahead of Michael Vick on your team, quite simply, the guy just wins 26-12-1 as a starter is quite exceptional, and he can only get better ...

If you're talking fantasy football I would put Vick at #7: Manning, Culpepper, McNabb, Green, Favre, Bulger and then Vick. If I was looking to build an NFL team I would put Vick below Manning, Culpepper, McNabb, Green, Favre, Bulger, Plummer, Brady, Hasselbeck, Palmer, Carr, Pennington, and Roethlisberger. Not to mention some of the rookies. I have seen enough of Vick to keep him on the team as a WR or maybe even a dunn-like back. I wouldn't keep him at the helm for a big $ contract. May just be me, there are a lot of Vick fans out there, I'm just not one of them....at the QB position anyway.

Vick shouldnt be on that list and I dont know about Mcnair anymore either. Vick wins games for his team but hes a terrible QB. If you put Daunte Hall at QB he could be just as good as Vick probably.
