Re: The problems with the current CBA

Watching this whole episode unravel it sort of reminds me of the Island Of Dr Moreau and the "natives" are getting very very restless.

If I remember right, this did not end very well for the owners.

Lesson being you should not try to turn these animals into human beings. Just isn't natural.

Great stuff from a packer backer. Learned a bit, and I'm sure when I re-read it I'll learn even more.

A few thoughts I have going forward.

Parity is a good thing for the NFL. Keeping a salary cap and a salary minimum in place is imperative. If they allow the cowboys to spend $300million and the Jags to spend $50million the league will not do well.

A rookie cap will be put in place. Put simply future rookies do not get a vote. The players union is made up of current players not future players. Similar to the last CBA where the current players allowed the future players to be hosed by allowing the owners to opt out of the CBA, without consequense.

Revenue sharing of some kind will continue. As Dfoster points out in the original post the have nots make up 2/3 of the league. Jerry Jones just gets one vote same as everyone else.
