The situation remained quiet until agent Drew Rosenhaus recently spoke to the Charlotte Touchdown Club. Rosenhaus represents defensive tackle Damione Lewis, who probably would step into a starting role if Jenkins isn't on the roster.

Rosenhaus said it was his understanding that the Panthers still hope to trade Jenkins.
