    Preseason injuries!

NFL preseason injuries: for health or money

    NFL

injuries.jpgAs if NFL fans needed another reason to complain about the length of the preseason, the Ravens and Giants lost a combined six — six! — starters last night. It’s a complaint that has been around for years, but which has gained steam in the past few years, especially with injuries to Clinton Portis and, before that, Michael Vick (back when a preseason injury looked like the worst possible thing that could happen to Mr. Vick. Remember that?).

The question is, what does the league value more? The money generated by nearly sold out, full-price preseason games, or the health of its stars? A few extra million generously donated to the team by the die-hards, ..........

    Re: Preseason injuries!

Did anyone see the Paris Warren broken leg last night in Tampa?

They were talking about the guy making the team in the earlier part of the game, and he was tackled crossing the goal line to score the winning TD in a meaningless game.
    His season is done.......

Sad, but it is part of the game.

Paris Warren, 9 yd pass from Luke McCown (Matt Bryant kick is good), 04:55. Drive: 9 plays, 76 yards in 4:41

Paris Warren, 31 yd pass from Bruce Gradkowski (Matt Bryant kick is good), 03:09. Drive: 10 plays, 69 yards in 3:08

    P. Warren
    7 for 110 Yds
    2 TDs 51 long

Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Paris Warren screams in pain after injuring his left leg after scoring what proved to be the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter against the Houston Texans during a preseason football game Thursday night Aug. 30, 2007 in Tampa, Fla. The Bucs defeated the Texans 31-24.

    Man, that is rough!!
    Real Nice game and then

But, for a lot of these guys, this might be their only chance...and when your team is young, like ours, they need the reps to get better, And, the coach needs the reps for cut evaluation and scheme adjustments...I don't see it changing anytime soon.

I bet many coaches' opinions on this change a bit from year to year, depending on the situation at hand.

    Re: Preseason injuries!

I was watching the replay on NFLN this morning.
He had so much adrenaline going, he was waving to fans as he was being carted off.
I think the anouncer was Andre Ware, and he said, that guy is "high on adrenaline that injury hurts."

    OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW is right!
