Portis defends Vick

So now we have Portis coming out and saying if it happens on private property behind closed doors, then people should leave Vick alone.

My guess is that he probably won't have a long line of players standing behind him when he goes on tour with that song and dance.

Portis also told WAVY-TV that he knows "a lot of back roads that got the dog fight if you want to go see it" and that "if it's behind closed doors, it's OK."

Yeah, well you can find child abuse, drugs, and many other things on back roads and behind closed doors too.
Does that make them OK?

I can only think that his point is that it is not football related so it is not important. On the other cockfighting is stilll legal in some states. Bull fighting is still legal and very popular in Mexico. Bull riding is becoming more and more popular. So sometimes cruelty to animals is exceptable in America. I am not making excuses for vick but trying to figure out where portis is coming from.
