Re: Plans to retire Fav-re's Jersey on hold

shouldn't this be in the General NFL forum?
Its about the Packers retiring [b]Favre[b]'s jersey, at Lambeau.
Not quite Vikings news, even if we do play them during that game

Re: Plans to retire Fav-re's Jersey on hold

    My theory in full:

Favre didn't want to retire last season.
He was pressured, "we want to go with youth next season, might be time to walk away," hence the excessive blubbering.
Favre thinks he is alright with the whole thing.
Mid summer, training camp nearing, he gets an itch.
Asks Pack if he can come back just one more season. They decide to tell him his time has passed, "go out on good terms."
Favre gets pissed and tells himself that nobody will dictate when and if he can play, "have some class Brett and don't make it difficult on us."
He goes out and shops himself to NFL teams.
The Pack finds out he is doing this and the pooh hits the fan.

Somewhere in there they told Favre if he comes back you will compete for the job and that he should retire with his Packer legacy intact. "Go back home and think about it for a while then get back to us."

And now they have to wait for Ted and Brett to make up or let the water pass before this can go down.
Plus BF might be playing for another team.
    No ceremony for you!

The burning question for me is "What does this all mean for Madden '09"? ;D
