    Pioli to join Chiefs
New England Patriots vice president of player personnel Scott Pioli has agreed to become head of football operations for the Kansas City Chiefs, two NFL sources told ESPN's Michael Smith.

The decision to hire Pioli likely means Herman Edwards will not be back as Chiefs head coach next season.
So, what's this got to do with the Vikes? Maybe nothing, but maybe, just maybe Herm Edwards could be the next defensive coach. A stretch? Probably!

    Re: Pioli to join Chiefs

He certainly has a good pedigree and has had great success with the Pats in keeping a competitive team and maintaining it with the cap space available. That is the kind of guy I wish Wilf would have brought in to head the Vikings front office so the owner could focus on the franchise and the head coach could focus on the coaching staff and player development.
