    PFT unveils revised draft chart.

PFT had been talking about revising the draft value chart to better reflect the devaluation of top picks due to contract demands.
    And here it is.

    New Draft Chart

As an example of the difference in value, according to the old chart, if the Vikings wanted to trade up to the #4 spot (as had been previously speculated), they would have had to give up this year's first and second, and next year's second.

According to the new chart, they could complete the same trade for this year's first, second, and third.

It is not a huge difference, but does make the top picks a little more proportional to the rest.
    I like the change.

I hope the vikings don't rely on these charts. Each team should develope their own chart based on what they think the pick is worth. I think the players available and depth of a draft should factor in.

I would assume that they do.
But the implication is that team would always use the draft chart developed by the Cowboys in the 90's and then make adjustments to it based on players and position depth.
The gives teams a new starting point.

Turns out several teams have revised their draft charts too.
And some of you thought I was crazy...

A couple of weeks ago, we developed a revised trade chart for valuing draft picks.
We’ve since caught wind of a new chart that has been developed by and among multiple teams, and that could be put in use as soon as this year.

NP was it you or Davike or someone else that came up with one on your own?
I would like to see how close the revision is to that one

    Must have been Davike.
I have been talking about the need for a new one for quite some time, but never had the patience to actually make one of my own.

Someone did do one, but I can't remember the thread or the originator but I don't recall one by Davike.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg
